Founded in 2019 in the heart of Detroit, Enriching Young Minds exists to spark confidence, creativity, and leadership in Black girls aged 6 to 16. We believe that when girls see themselves as capable entrepreneurs and changemakers, they light up their communities—and the world.
What We Do
• Interactive Workshops: Girls learn by doing designing a brand, creating budgets, and testing their ideas in fun, age-appropriate projects.
• One-on-One Mentorship: Each participant is paired with a local entrepreneur or professional who offers encouragement, advice, and friendship.
• Community Showcases: Our pop-up markets and pitch events give girls a stage to sell their creations, practice leadership, and celebrate each other’s successes.

Our Impact
In just a few years, hundreds of Detroit girls have launched their first micro-businesses, spoken on stages, and gained real-world confidence. Many alumni return as mentors, paying forward the support they received and keeping our circle of encouragement strong.

Our mission is to educate and encourage young Black girls 6 to 16 years old to own their own businesses while fostering their self-esteem and leadership through programs, mentorship, resources, and business fairs.

Our vision at Enriching Young Minds is to grow a movement of empowered young Black girls who confidently own their identity and succeed in business as professional entrepreneurs, regardless of societal norms and perceptions of our youth. We strive to bridge the gap and close the disparities in entrepreneurial opportunities afforded to them, thus allowing them to fulfill their dreams and reach their highest potential.
